NT_001454 was premiered at Resolution! 2001. Featuring both Brian as the ubiquitous Dr Montasantasory and Robyn as the innocent Alice-character Suzy. Dr Montasantasory plucked Suzy from the audience to travel through a virtual world, while illusive 'Head' characters plot her capture to enrich their depleted genetic diversity.
In the finale, a projection of Suzy over Stuart is slowly pulled apart as the performer slips through a slit in the screen. To the audience Suzy appears slowly and inexorably torn apart. This acts as a powerful metaphor for a subtext: the biotech industry dismantling our natural collective genetic heritage.
Specific design of the projection for a 4.5m wide screen and the pre-rendering of the projection enabled such techniques.
