Deleuze and Guattari (1987) philosophise on how our known environment including ourselves can be understood in terms of connections, relationships, and networks or as they call them rhizomes (Quote 56). Everything is understood in context or in relationship. Ideas, concepts of 'things' have blurred boundaries which become plains, plateaus, and stratas. Groups of related 'things' or ideas of 'things' become collated into assemblages. Boundaries around these groups are defining territories, which can be escaped from by lines of flight that shoot out to possibly reterritorialise elsewhere. Things / ideas are in constant state of 'becoming'. Deleuze and Guattari have created a very complex system of terminology in order to define the complex systems of 'life' and 'concepts of life'. For me their terminology defines pools of metaphoric mind pictures of different types of relationships, rather than definitions of pinpointed sharply prescribed accuracy. ... This becomes like Complexity Theory and fuzzy logic, which grew into respectable subjects around the same time Deleuze and Guattari were creating 'A Thousand Plateaus'.

After having created Rhizomes, I feel that I can embody a greater understanding of Deleuze and Guattari's 'work'. I see connected concepts like the pools of projected 'virtual' colour, that in Rhizomes blur into each other or escape to become different colours... ...Concepts are information (Quote 1)... information is energy.... energy is light... light pervades... in single packets or nodes of photons or in connecting planes or 3D pools of waves... (cycles in hypertext) (cycles exist in definitions)...
... Concepts can be both particular in nature and wavelike connecting relationships (Lucas 2005d)... the interplay of particles/ points/nodes with waves / planes / lines of flight create Complex webs of relationship... Complex systems...
... and the manner in which we divide / categorise our information / energy / light becomes like the constraints which channel work cycles, producing and creating more work... an embodied understanding to ponder... ...engendering a web of nonlinear thought.... yet another COMPLEX System
