The same claim might be made with respect to the relationship between performances of a closed dance work and its 'score'. Indeed the history of discussions concerning the identity of the performance work have continually had to address the fact that the performances are not the work, as such, although they are the actualiisations of the work. No agreement has been reached as to where the work is sited with respect to concrete art object, ideal art object or score, however.
