NT_001454 used pre-rendered video that was run off a Premier timeline. The pre-rendered nature of the projection gave the performance a high degree of photorealism. (see projection and pictures) Also, because the projection was rendered, composited and edited using conventional technology prior to the performance the arrangement proved highly robust (see Technology in Performance). However because the animation of the virtual world had to be done before we could rehearse in front of it, ie there was a separation between the creation of the projected imagery and the physical choreography, this inevitably created a separation when we came to the performance of NT_001454. However, NT_001454 did employ cinematic techniques to move from scene to scene and theatrical techniques of sectioning stage space.
